Ivory Coast made a strong start to the AFCON U17 after defeating Cameroon 2-0 in their opening Group B match. The first half remained balanced, with both teams showing intensity and commitment without managing to break the deadlock.
Ivory Coast relied on quick combinations and technical quality, while Cameroon tried to create danger through physical pressure and fast transitions.
The match changed shortly after the break when Nomane Guy opened the scoring in the 52nd minute. That goal gave the Young Elephants more confidence and control over the game. Cameroon attempted to react, but the Ivorians continued to dominate key moments and looked more dangerous going forward.
Yao Hubert sealed the victory six minutes later with an excellent solo effort after cutting through the Cameroonian defense before finishing calmly past the goalkeeper. Ivory Coast also showed defensive discipline throughout the second half despite the late red card shown to Broulaye Cissé for a dangerous tackle. With this convincing win, the Young Elephants already sent a strong message to their rivals in this AFCON U17 tournament.
