Comorian winger Rafiki Saïd delivered another decisive moment for Standard de Liège, getting on the scoresheet in their 2-1 victory over KVC Westerlo in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League playoff clash on Monday evening.
The 25-year-old found the net in the 41st minute to restore Standard’s advantage after T. Nkada had equalised for the guest from the penalty spot. Saïd showed sharp attacking instinct and composure in the final third, capping off an impressive first-half display from the visitors.
Earlier in the contest, D. Haspolat had opened the scoring for Westerlo with a well-taken opportunity in the 12th minute before Standard responded strongly. Saïd’s goal ultimately proved crucial as the Liège-based side held firm in the second half to secure all three points away from home.
The goal adds to Rafiki Saïd’s growing influence for Standard de Liège this season, with the winger continuing to impress through his pace, movement and attacking contribution during the playoffs.
