Premier League side Fulham FC have reportedly decided not to activate the €24 million buy option for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze following the conclusion of his loan spell from AC Milan.
According to reports from Italian outlet Tuttomercato, the Super Eagles star will now return to the San Siro ahead of the new season after spending the 2025/2026 campaign at Craven Cottage.
Chukwueze enjoyed a decent run during his time with Fulham, contributing three goals and four assists across all competitions.
The 27-year-old added pace and creativity to Marco Silva’s attacking options and produced several eye-catching performances during the season.
Despite flashes of brilliance and his ability to influence games from the wings, Fulham have opted against making the move permanent, with the London club unwilling to meet the agreed transfer clause attached to the loan deal.
The development means Chukwueze is expected to rejoin AC Milan for pre-season preparations, although his long-term future at the Italian club remains uncertain amid growing speculation over potential transfer activity this summer.
Since arriving in Europe, the former Villarreal CF star has built a reputation for his direct style of play, dribbling ability, and attacking flair. However, consistency and injuries have occasionally slowed his progress at club level.
For the Super Eagles, Chukwueze remains an important attacking figure as Nigeria continue preparations for upcoming international competitions and qualification campaigns.
Fulham’s decision now opens the door for AC Milan to either reintegrate the winger into their squad or explore fresh transfer opportunities ahead of the new season.
