Flamingos Thrash Guinea To Seal FIFA U-17 World Cup Ticket

Nigeria’s Flamingos produced another dominant display on Sunday, defeating Guinea 6-0 in the second leg of their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

The emphatic victory secured an 11-0 aggregate triumph for the Nigerian side, who had already established a commanding advantage with a 5-0 win in the first leg in Conakry.

The hosts wasted no time in asserting their superiority, with Oluwakemi Adegbuyi opening the scoring in the ninth minute.

Nigeria continued to dictate proceedings and doubled their lead in the 21st minute through captain Harmony Chidi.

Just two minutes later, Queen Joseph added a third goal to put the contest beyond Guinea’s reach.

Adegbuyi then grabbed her second of the match in the 28th minute, further extending the Flamingos’ advantage.

Chidi completed her brace in the 34th minute after combining well with Adegbuyi, as Nigeria headed into the break with a comfortable 5-0 lead.

The Flamingos maintained their intensity after the restart and rounded off the scoring when Precious Oscar found the net to make it 6-0 and cap an impressive all-round performance.

The convincing result underlines Nigeria’s determination to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with the Flamingos now advancing to the next stage of the qualification campaign.
