Kenyan Premier League outfit Tusker FC have officially appointed French tactician Julien Mette as their new head coach, with Anthony Kimani named as assistant coach
Mette, a UEFA Pro license holder, began his coaching career around 2006, focusing on youth development in France before shifting to senior roles abroad in Africa.
The French tactician guided Jeunesse Villenavaise, Blanquefort, and Libourne-Saint-Seurin as part of his formative years in youth coaching in his native France. In 2016, he took up his first overseas role by joining Tongo FC in Gabon for a year.
He later joined AS Otôho in Congo-Brazzaville as Sporting Director, where he won two league titles after transitioning to the head coach role.
Moreover, he also handled the Djibouti national team and Rwandese giants, Rayon Sports, in 2024.
Mette will mark his league debut as the Brewers visit Shabana FC this Sunday at the Gusii Stadium.
