Ray Kene Ogbodo, an Enugu frontline governorship candidate on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), has reassured his numerous supporters, political associates and the good people of Enugu State that his 2027 governorship ambition remains firmly on course, despite the recent omission of his name from the list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a press statement made available by his media aide, Hon Don Victor, Ogbodo described the development as a temporary setback that would not diminish his determination to pursue his vision of providing credible, ethical and transformational leadership for Enugu State.
“Let me assure our numerous supporters and the good people of Enugu State that we remain focused, determined and firmly committed to the 2027 governorship race. Although my name was not included in the recently published INEC list, we are taking the necessary steps with our party and the electoral commission to resolve the issue in accordance with the law. We remain hopeful of a positive resolution.”
Ogbodo emphasised that his political mission goes beyond personal ambition, stressing that Ndi Enugu deserve leadership built on integrity, accountability, economic empowerment, security, improved public services and genuine commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
“Our mission has never been about personal ambition. It is about the future of Enugu State and the wellbeing of our people. We recognise that the journey towards meaningful transformation may come with challenges, but no temporary setback will diminish our commitment to that vision.
“The journey towards a better Enugu cannot be derailed by temporary obstacles. Challenges are part of every meaningful struggle, but our vision remains intact and our determination unshaken. We remain committed to building a state where governance works for everyone, opportunities abound and the people’s interests always come first.”
He expressed profound appreciation to his supporters across the 17 local government areas of Enugu State for their confidence, encouragement and solidarity, urging them to remain calm, peaceful, united and hopeful as efforts continue to resolve the outstanding electoral issues.
“Our vision remains intact, our mission remains clear, our hope remains alive, our determination remains unshaken, and our commitment to a better future for Ndi Enugu remains stronger than ever. We are still on course for Enugu 2027.”
Ogbodo urged his supporters and followers to remain calm, peaceful, united and hopeful while the outstanding electoral matter is being pursued through the appropriate channels.
