Arsenal Keep Quadruple Hope Alive With Win Over Mansfield Town

Arsenal have booked a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after surviving a tough test from third-tier side Mansfield Town with a 2–1 victory today.

The Arsenal side, managed by Mikel Arteta, took the lead just before halftime through Noni Madueke, who curled home a powerful finish in the 41st minute to give the Premier League leaders the advantage at Field Mill.

Mansfield responded strongly in the second half when substitute Will Evans equalised shortly after coming on, finishing calmly past goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to spark hopes of a major upset.

But Arsenal restored their lead in the 66th minute when Eberechi Eze struck a superb long-range effort from the edge of the box to seal the win and send the London club into the last eight.

Speaking after the match, Eze said he was pleased to score and admitted the game was played in a difficult atmosphere but noted that the most important thing was progressing to the next round.

The match also saw Arsenal make history by starting two teenagers aged 16 and under, including Max Dowman, who became the club’s youngest-ever player in the FA Cup.

Despite the spirited performance from Mansfield, the Premier League side held on for victory to keep their hopes of multiple trophies this season alive.
