Mweemba opts to pay for Kansanshi replicas despite gift to support club

FAZ President Keith Mweemba has used his visit to Solwezi to encourage football administrators and other stakeholders to recognise the financial demands of the game and support clubs in practical ways.

Mweemba who was in Solwezi to attend the reconvened 2025 FAZ North-Western Provincial Annual General Meeting, also took time to watch the MTN week 23 match between Kansanshi Dynamos and Mufulira Wanderers where he stressed that the football family must appreciate that the game requires financial support if it is to grow.

During the halftime break, Kansanshi Dynamos officials presented replica jerseys to the FAZ President as a gesture of appreciation.

While he accepted the jerseys, Mweemba contributed K2,000 to the club, explaining that football stakeholders must discourage the culture of handouts and instead support clubs by purchasing official merchandise.

He also offered a similar amount to Mufulira Wanderers officials, even though they had not presented him with replicas.

Meanwhile, Kansanshi Dynamos went on to record a 2–0 victory over Mufulira Wanderers, adding further excitement to a matchday that was boosted by the FAZ President’s presence in Solwezi.
