OGC Nice’s 23-year-old winger, Elye Wahi, is rapidly closing in on a call-up to the Ivory Coast national team.
Wahi is expected to receive his biometric passport from Ivory Coast soon, having been born in France.
In fact, the center forward has already represented France at the youth level.
However, the player of Ivorian descent will play for the Elephants.
Emerse Fae will be able to count on the player, on loan from Frankfurt, for the 2026 World Cup.
Before that, Ivory Coast will face South Korea and Scotland on March 28 and 31, respectively. At the World Cup, the Elephants will compete in Group E, which includes Germany, Ecuador, and Curaçao.
