The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the commercial and global footprint of the game following a series of high-level meetings led by its president, Patrice Motsepe.
The engagements brought together CAF’s senior leadership and top executives from key global partners, including Christel Heydemann of Orange S.A., Yasser Shaker, Arthur Hoeld of Puma SE, and David Mignot of Canal+ Group.
CAF was represented by General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba alongside senior officials Hassan El Kamah and Luxolo September, as discussions centered on reinforcing long-term collaborations and identifying new avenues to elevate African football on the global stage.
Key focus areas included strengthening commercial partnerships, enhancing broadcast and digital engagement, and expanding the international reach of CAF competitions. Central to the talks was the continued growth of the Africa Cup of Nations, which has seen a steady rise in global viewership and commercial appeal.
In meetings with Orange, CAF explored opportunities around technological innovation, improved connectivity, and deeper fan engagement across the continent. Talks with Puma highlighted pathways for football development initiatives, increased brand activation, and the global promotion of African talent.
Meanwhile, discussions with Canal+ focused on advancing broadcast capabilities and amplifying the storytelling of African football, with the aim of reaching wider audiences both within Africa and internationally.
The meetings signal CAF’s strategic intent to leverage strong corporate partnerships as a catalyst for growth, innovation, and the continued globalization of African football.
