The government of Senegal has called for an international investigation into suspected corruption within the Confederation of African Football following the controversial decision to strip the national team of its AFCON 2025 title and award it to Morocco.
In an official statement, authorities described the ruling as “profoundly unjust” and contrary to the fundamental principles of sporting fairness and integrity.
Determined to challenge the decision, the Senegalese government announced that it will pursue all available legal avenues, including international courts, to restore what it considers a rightful victory on the pitch. It also insisted on the need for an independent investigation into CAF’s governance, arguing that the credibility of African football is now at stake.
