If there’s one name making waves on coach Emerse Fae’s roster for the Ivory Coast Elephants, it’s that of forward Elye Wahi.

For the first time in his career, Marseille forward Elye Wahi has joined the Elephants.

Long considered indecisive, the young striker has finally made a bold move by choosing to represent Ivory Coast, thereby shaking up the attacking lineup ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

The head coach justified this choice by citing the player’s evolving mindset, stating at a press conference:

“I had initially closed the door on Elye Wahi because of his initial choice, but given the steps he took and the sincerity he showed in reversing his decision, I was ultimately convinced by his actions. Elye Wahi has therefore been selected.”

The player will now join the Ivory Coast Elephants, who will play two friendly matches against South Korea and Scotland as part of the FIFA international window.
