Dynamos drop points but remain four points clear at the top

Power Dynamos recorded a disappointing 1-1 draw against FC Leopards in Week 26 of the Zambian Premier League, played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Friday, 20th March, 2026.

The match, initially scheduled for Thursday, 19th March, 2026, was postponed due to heavy downpour and resumed the following day at 10:00hrs.

Power Dynamos’ in-form striker, Moses Shumah, scored in the 35th minute, benefiting from a clever John Soko cutback on the right wing, leaving goalkeeper Augustine Nkole helpless. The hosts pressed hard for a second goal, creating numerous scoring opportunities, but the visitors remained compact, seeing off the first half with a slender 1-0 lead.

At halftime, coach Albert Kachinga made four tactical changes, injecting stability with Richard Ocran and Allan Kapila at the back, and igniting firepower upfront with Mapande and Chabula.

Coach Mutapa also made changes, aiming to stabilize and seal victory, with Masanyinga, Adoko, Ankobo, and Makwaza getting adequate minutes.

As time ran out, Emmanuel Chabula’s initiative in the final.minute of the 5 additional time silenced the home fans, nodding the ball into the bottom right corner beating Willard Mwanza to level the score.

The result keeps Power Dynamos top, with a 4-point lead and two games in hand against Mines United and Kansanshi Dynamos.
