Bayelsa to Host Key NFF Assembly in Yenagoa

Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, will welcome top football administrators from across Nigeria on Monday, March 23, 2026, as it hosts a crucial meeting of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Governor Douye Diri is expected to open the gathering at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall inside Government House, setting the tone for discussions that could shape the future of football administration in the country.

Among those expected are National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko, Director General Bukola Olopade, Senate Committee on Sports Chairman Abdul Ningi, and Kabiru Amadu, who heads the House Committee on Sports.

The meeting will bring together football stakeholders from across the federation, including leaders of all 36 state football associations and the FCT, members of the NFF executive board, and representatives of key bodies such as the leagues, coaches, referees, and players’ union.

NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau will address participants before formal proceedings begin.

At the heart of the meeting are proposed changes to key governing documents, including the federation’s statutes, electoral guidelines, and general assembly procedures.

Attendees will also consider appointments into important roles such as the electoral committee, appeals committee, and the federation’s independent auditor.
