Bendel Insurance and Plateau United settled for a 2-2 draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 31 clash in Benin City on Saturday.
The home side made a bright start, going ahead in the 14th minute through Alex Oweilayefa. Plateau United responded just before halftime, with Monday Gideon restoring parity four minutes before the break.
After the restart, Bendel Insurance intensified their attacking efforts and were rewarded when Kayode Oke converted from the penalty spot shortly before the hour mark to make it 2-1.
However, Plateau United refused to back down and grabbed a late equaliser in stoppage time, as Vincent Temitope calmly slotted home from the spot to secure a share of the spoils.
Following the result, Bendel Insurance sit seventh on the league table, while Plateau United occupy eighth position.
In another fixture played in Lagos, Kwara United edged Nasarawa United 1-0, with Abdulsalam Abdulsalam netting a stoppage-time penalty to seal the win.
