Paris Saint Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has been referred to the criminal court in Hauts de Seine, France, following a rape allegation dating back to February 2023.
The Moroccan international was indicted in March 2023 after a young woman accused him of raping her at his home. According to the complaint, the two had connected on social media before arranging to meet on February 25, 2023. The alleged victim claims the encounter turned into a sexual assault.
Hakimi disputes the accusation. His version of events differs sharply from that of the complainant. The 25 year old maintains that he only kissed the woman and denies any form of rape. The case now moves to the criminal court, where judges will examine the evidence and hear arguments from both sides before reaching a verdict.
