Ernest Poku has opened up about his international future, revealing that he is considering multiple options but has yet to receive official approaches from any of the nations involved.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward, eligible to represent Netherlands, Ghana, and Germany, expressed frustration at the flood of unofficial messages regarding his potential call-ups. “Netherlands, Ghana and Germany are also options, but I haven’t heard from all three yet. I can only wait,” Poku said.
He added that while he had received communications claiming to be from Ghanaian officials, the messages were often from multiple individuals whose authenticity was unclear. “I did hear some things from Ghana, but that’s fifteen people who message me and say they work there. In the end, you don’t know what to believe,” he explained.
Poku clarified that any official contact should go through his agent, emphasizing a desire for clarity and professionalism in the decision-making process. “I have indicated that they should not communicate with me. If so, I’ll hear it from my agent,” he said, signaling a measured approach as he considers which nation to represent on the international stage.
