The Gabonese Football Federation (Fegafoot) has made a major move, reducing its pool of 605 applicants for the national team coach role to only three finalists.
After a series of individual interviews, the selected candidate’s files were sent to the Minister of Sports, Paul Kessany, for the final decision.
According to Sport News Africa, the top three candidates are experienced African and European football coaches:
Régis Bogaert (former assistant coach of Senegal), Frédéric Bompard (formerly with Nîmes and Sochaux) and Anthony Da Silva (former assistant coach of Cameroon).
The name of the successor to the national team coach is expected to be announced in the coming days, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Gabonese football.
