Ghana is aiming high, with the Black Stars targeting wins against Austria and Germany in upcoming friendlies.
As preparations for the 2026 World Cup intensify, the Ghanaian national team is approaching these matches with determination and confidence.
The message from the Federation is crystal clear: this is not just about testing the team, but about achieving convincing results.
The Federation’s communications director, Henry Asante Twum, has emphasized this winning mindset, noting that the coaching staff and players are fully committed to delivering strong performances against these two European opponents.
“We are approaching these friendly matches against Austria and Germany with a positive mindset and the ambition to achieve good results,” Asante Twum said.
Ghana will first face Austria on Friday, before taking on Germany on March 30. These two matches will serve as true barometers to gauge the team’s level as the World Cup approaches.
The momentum will then continue with additional friendly matches against Mexico and Wales in May and June, serving as final tune-ups before the big event.
At the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the Black Stars will compete in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, aiming to build on their recent success.
