Determined to return to the national team, Hakim Ziyech has agreed to a major pay cut to join Wydad AC in Casablanca.

According to club president Hicham Aït Menna, the 32-year-old Moroccan international agreed to reduce his salary by 75%.

Prior to this transfer, he played for Al-Duhail SC in Qatar, where he earned approximately $5 million per season.

Having arrived in November, Ziyech did not begin playing until January. In six matches played, he has already scored two goals and provided one assist, including a game-winning goal in the final seconds against RS Berkane.

Through this move, the former playmaker for the Moroccan national soccer team hopes to regain his top form and convince head coach Mohamed Ouahbi to recall him for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
