Late Drama as Remo Stars, Shooting Stars Secure Crucial NPFL Wins

Defending champions Remo Stars strengthened their fight to remain competitive in the league after edging Nasarawa United 2–1 in a tense encounter in Ikenne on Sunday on Matchday 30 of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL.

After a goalless first half, Stanley Joseph broke the deadlock for the home side in the 62nd minute.

Nasarawa United fought back late in the game and restored parity in the 83rd minute through Suleiman Dauda.

However, the hosts snatched victory in dramatic fashion when Michael Ibe struck two minutes from full time to seal all three points.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club delivered an entertaining 3–2 victory over Wikki Tourists at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 16th minute through Sadiq Ibrahim, before Abba Musa drew Wikki level in the 35th minute.

Shooting Stars regained their advantage just before halftime thanks to Lucky Emmanuel. Wikki Tourists again fought back after the break, with John Taiwo equalising in the 53rd minute.

But the hosts had the final say as Tijani Al-Ameen netted a late winner to secure the victory.

In Aba, Enyimba recorded a comfortable 2–0 win against Plateau United, with goals from Paul Odeh and Chinedu Ufere sealing the triumph for the People’s Elephant.

Elsewhere, Kwara United played out a goalless draw with Rangers International in Ilorin, while Niger Tornadoes were also held to a 0–0 stalemate by Kano Pillars in Minna.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Barau FC defeated Abia Warriors 2–0. Muhammad Umar scored both goals from free kicks in the 9th and 30th minutes.
