In Aba, Enyimba FC edged local rivals Abia Warriors 2-1 in a pulsating Oriental Derby. Chidera Michael broke the deadlock just after the hour mark, putting the hosts in control.
However, Abia Warriors fought back late in the game, with Emeka Obioma levelling scores two minutes before regulation time.
Just when it seemed the spoils would be shared, Michael struck again deep into stoppage time to seal a dramatic victory for Enyimba.
In Maiduguri, reigning champions Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi Warriors.

Handsome Surveyor gave Rivers United the advantage again on the stroke of half-time, while Douglas grabbed his second goal in the 82nd minute to wrap up an entertaining contest.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Shooting Stars SC secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Rangers International.
Goals from Sodiq Ibrahim, Desmond Ojietefian, and Adams Mustapha ensured maximum points for the hosts, while Chidiebere Nwobodo scored the consolation for Rangers.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United thrashed Kano Pillars 4-1, while Ikorodu City FC edged Warri Wolves 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.
