In Aba, Enyimba FC edged local rivals Abia Warriors 2-1 in a pulsating Oriental Derby. Chidera Michael broke the deadlock just after the hour mark, putting the hosts in control.
However, Abia Warriors fought back late in the game, with Emeka Obioma levelling scores two minutes before regulation time.
Just when it seemed the spoils would be shared, Michael struck again deep into stoppage time to seal a dramatic victory for Enyimba.
In Maiduguri, reigning champions Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi Warriors.
The hosts took an early lead through Adewale Yusuf in the 7th minute, but Victor Mbaoma restored parity for Remo Stars in the 36th minute, ensuring both sides settled for a point.
Meanwhile, Rivers United returned to the summit of the league table after a thrilling 4-2 win over Kun Khalifat FC in Port Harcourt.
Aniekeme Okon opened scoring for Rivers United in the 16th minute before Kun Khalifat equalised shortly after.
The visitors then took the lead through Sunday Adehi on 38 minutes, but Rivers responded swiftly with Iyowuna Douglas equalising just two minutes later.
Handsome Surveyor gave Rivers United the advantage again on the stroke of half-time, while Douglas grabbed his second goal in the 82nd minute to wrap up an entertaining contest.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Shooting Stars SC secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Rangers International.
Goals from Sodiq Ibrahim, Desmond Ojietefian, and Adams Mustapha ensured maximum points for the hosts, while Chidiebere Nwobodo scored the consolation for Rangers.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United thrashed Kano Pillars 4-1, while Ikorodu City FC edged Warri Wolves 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.
