The Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Veron Mosengo-Omba, has been officially cleared of all charges.
According to Sport A, the Fribourg Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided to close the case and end the investigation into him due to a lack of concrete evidence.
As a reminder, allegations of mismanagement and fraud were raised last year, but the investigation revealed no irregularities.
The court’s decision, issued via a dismissal order, confirms that there are insufficient grounds to prosecute the former FIFA executive.
Mr. Mosengo-Omba, who had consistently and firmly denied these accusations during his hearings, has thus had his integrity confirmed by the Swiss authorities.
This conclusion marks the end of a period of legal uncertainty for the Congolese-Swiss executive. CAF welcomed the announcement with great satisfaction.
The organization emphasizes that this outcome reflects the rigor and principles of good governance established within the organization.
Now free from legal pressure, Veron Mosengo-Omba can fully focus on his duties and the development of African soccer.
