Charles Abi is thrilled for his debut, openly sharing his excitement after accepting his first call-up to the Togolese national team.

Currently training in Morocco with the Eperviers as part of the FIFA window, the Valenciennes forward is thoroughly enjoying his first moments in his new colors.

In his first statement, the player reflected on the circumstances of his arrival.

“We have good conditions; the hotel is perfect, the fields are good, and the weather is nice. So my first impressions are very good. I was in contact with Serge first… Once he contacted me, I agreed right away.”

“I’m very happy to join the Togo national team; it’s an honor. You have a lot of preconceptions before you arrive. But once you’re here, you feel at home and don’t want to leave,” he said.

The player knows that while wearing the national colors, the public expects strong performances, and he is determined to contribute.

“I’ll give it my all to help the team achieve good results. Now that I’m here, I really don’t regret coming,” he added.

The Togo Sparrowhawks are now led by Frenchman Patrice Neveu, who hopes to raise the level of this team, which has missed the last four Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
