DRC : A failed transition between Lualua and Kaninda

Tresor Lualua’s tenure as head of the National Youth Football League (LINAFJ) is off to a slow start.

Upon arriving at FECOFA headquarters to take office, Tresor Lualua was blocked as his predecessor, Zephyr Kaninda, still controls the office while accompanying the U17 Leopards at the AFCON in Morocco.

This forced cohabitation has created an unprecedented administrative crisis at the top of Congolese youth football.

The official handover has been delayed, with the former president still representing the League abroad, leaving the newly elected successor in limbo.

Beyond the disputes, the chaotic handover has already disrupted the U17’s preparations, causing logistical delays ahead of the tournament in Morocco.
