After several seasons spent searching for an international opportunity, Malang Sarr finally seems to be achieving his goal.

The RC Lens defender, who has had a remarkable season with his club, is expected to be called up for the first time to the Senegal national team for the March training camp.

For several months, the 27-year-old has made no secret of his desire to defend the colors of the Lions of Teranga.

His desire has been clearly expressed, but until now, it had not been acted upon by coach Pape Thiaw.

However, the situation could change very soon. According to several corroborating reports, the former OGC Nice and Chelsea defender is set to feature in Senegal’s squad for the friendly matches scheduled for the end of the month.

The African champions will face Peru on March 28 before taking on Gambia three days later. These two matches could mark the Lens player’s international debut.

Trained in France, Malang Sarr played for the French national team at youth level for many years, from the U16s to the Espoirs, before opening the door to an adventure with Senegal.
