South Africa coach Hugo Broos has announced a preliminary squad of 37 players ahead of two friendly matches against Panama scheduled for March 27 and March 31 in Durban and Cape Town.
The selection includes several regular members of the national team as well as new faces who will have the opportunity to impress during the upcoming international window.
One of the most notable call-ups is Stellenbosch FC midfielder Mthetheleli Mthiyane, who receives his first invitation to the national team after strong performances in the domestic league. These matches are an important step in Bafana Bafana’s preparation for the 2026 World Cup, with Broos aiming to test both experienced players and newcomers against Panama’s physical and disciplined style of play.
