Katsina United F.C. have threatened to take legal action against one of their strikers who has been absent from the team without official permission since February 22, 2026.
The Nigeria Premier Football League side disclosed that the player has failed to report for training sessions for several weeks, raising serious concerns within the club’s management and technical crew.
According to officials, the striker also vacated the club’s accommodation without notifying the management, further compounding the issue.
In a statement released by the club, Katsina United expressed disappointment over the player’s conduct, describing the development as a breach of contractual obligations.
The club insisted that professional players are expected to respect team rules and maintain discipline both on and off the pitch.
The management stated that repeated attempts to reach the player and clarify the situation have so far been unsuccessful.
As a result, the club is now considering legal measures to address what it views as a clear violation of the terms of the player’s contract.
Sources close to the club revealed that the striker’s prolonged absence has disrupted preparations for upcoming matches in the domestic league, with the coaching staff forced to adjust their plans due to the unexpected situation.
Katsina United emphasized that the decision to consider legal action is aimed at protecting the club’s integrity and ensuring that contractual agreements are respected by all players.
The club also reiterated its commitment to maintaining professionalism within the squad as it continues its campaign in the Nigerian top flight.
Further updates are expected once the management concludes its internal review and determines the next course of action regarding the player’s future with the team.
