Nkhoma Names Malawi Squad for U-17 Girls World Cup Qualifiers

Malawi Under-17 Girls National Team head coach Chisomo Nkhoma has named a 36-member squad to begin preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Burundi.

Malawi will host the first leg on 11 April 2026 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, with the return leg scheduled a week later in Burundi.

Nkhoma has included Emily Samuel, Eneles Fabiano, Victoria Mkwala and Fatima Lali, who were part of the Malawi Under-20 squad that recently defeated Guinea-Bissau in February, bringing valuable experience into the junior setup.

The team is expected to enter camp on Sunday, 22 March 2026 at Luwinga Technical Centre in Mzuzu.

The winner of the two-legged encounter between Malawi and Burundi will progress to the next round, where they will face the winner between South Sudan and Ethiopia.
