The opening fixture will see Excellent FC of Ughelli face Morak FC of Uvwie on Friday at the Oleh Township Stadium, setting the tone for what promises to be a competitive tournament.

The draw ceremony, held at the DFA Secretariat in Asaba, produced several exciting first-round matchups.

Speaking after the draw, DFA Chairman Godwin Adode commended the 22 participating teams for their dedication to football development in the state.

He expressed optimism that the new sponsorship agreement with Arthur Ferdinand Limited would significantly boost the growth of the game and improve club performances.

Adode confirmed the prize structure, stating that the tournament winners will receive ₦5 million, while the runners-up will earn ₦3 million. In the women’s category, the champions will take home ₦1 million, with ₦500,000 awarded to the second-placed team.

He also urged all participating teams to uphold fair play and discipline to ensure the state is well represented at the national level.

Representing the sponsors, the Managing Director of Arthur Ferdinand Limited, Moro Idama, through the company’s General Manager, Ese Ikuku, said the partnership aims to revive football in Delta State.

He added that the initiative would help local clubs compete more effectively on the national stage.

Idama further disclosed plans to enhance the fan experience, including the distribution of branded merchandise such as jerseys and caps at match venues.

Meanwhile, defending champions Warri Wolves and last year’s runners-up Sapele Lions have both been granted automatic passage to the quarter-finals.

Additionally, the best-performing team from the early rounds and the top-ranked losing side in the second round will also progress to the last eight of the competition.
