Badu Urges Patience as Ghana FA Bolster Technical Team Ahead of World Cup

Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the Ghana Football Association following recent moves to reinforce the national team’s technical bench ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Speaking on the ongoing restructuring within the Black Stars setup, Badu stressed that the Ghana FA is fully aware of the internal discussions that have taken place between coaches and management, as well as the specific areas that require strengthening.

“The Ghana FA knows the nature of the meetings they held with the coaches and management, as well as the kind of reinforcement needed in the technical team,” he said. “If they have decided to strengthen the technical team, we have to support them.”

The former Udinese midfielder’s comments come at a crucial period for the Black Stars, with only a few months remaining before the global showpiece. Conversations around the expansion of the technical team have sparked debate among supporters, but Badu believes this is not the moment for division.

“With few months left to the World Cup, this is not the time to criticise the expansion,” he added. “As Ghanaians, we need to be patient and back the team.”

Ghana’s preparations for the tournament have intensified in recent weeks, with the FA reportedly focused on ensuring the coaching staff is adequately equipped to handle the demands of the competition. Reinforcing the technical team is seen as part of a broader strategy to enhance tactical preparation, player management, and performance analysis.

Badu, who represented Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, understands the pressures that come with major tournaments. His message is clear: unity and trust in the process could be as important as any tactical tweak.

As the countdown to the World Cup continues, the spotlight will remain firmly on the Black Stars, but for Badu, national support may prove to be the team’s most valuable asset.
