Everton delivered a complete performance at Goodison Park, sweeping aside Chelsea 3-0, with Beto producing a standout display that included two goals and an assist.
The hosts took the lead in the 33rd minute through a moment of precision from James Garner. From the halfway line, Garner threaded a perfectly weighted pass into Beto’s path, taking Robert Sánchez out of the equation. The Chelsea goalkeeper rushed out, but Beto reacted first, calmly poking the ball beyond him to give Everton a deserved advantage heading into the break.
Chelsea’s struggles continued in the second half, and Beto doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. After Idrissa Gueye won possession deep in Everton’s half, he drove forward unchallenged before slipping in the striker. Beto struck instinctively on the turn, and although the effort lacked power, Sánchez endured another difficult moment as the ball slipped through his legs and rolled over the line.
Beto then turned provider in the 76th minute to cap a sensational outing. Latching onto another attacking move, he showed composure to set up Everton’s third goal, sealing a dominant victory and underlining Chelsea’s defensive frailties on the night.
The Guinea-Bissau forward pushed for a hat-trick but was substituted late on, receiving a warm ovation after a decisive contribution. Everton’s clinical edge and intensity proved too much for Chelsea, while Beto’s all-action display will be remembered as one of his finest performances for the club.
