The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is preparing to re-examine the ruling earlier delivered by its disciplinary committee over the controversial clash between Morocco national football team and Senegal national football team in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Reports indicate that CAF’s appeals committee has agreed to reopen the case in order to review the events that surrounded the highly debated encounter between both sides.
As part of the process, the committee has asked the football federation involved to present fresh legal arguments to strengthen its appeal.
CAF also confirmed that a separate inquiry has been initiated into some of the decisions made during the match, particularly those concerning the officiating, which have drawn strong reactions from fans and stakeholders.
The issue is expected to be examined further when the appeals committee holds its next meeting, where a final decision could be taken on whether to uphold or overturn the earlier verdict of the disciplinary committee.
