FIFA U17 WWC: Copper Princesses Gear Up for DRC Return Leg

The Zambia Under-17 Women National Team has settled in Lubumbashi ahead of Sunday’s second round, second leg FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Coach Carol Kanyemba and her technical bench took the lasses through the paces at the Stade Omnisport Kibassa Maliba. Zambia carries a 5-0 advantage from the first leg played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Meanwhile, former Zambian defender Elijah Litana has tipped the Chipolopolo for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is set to start in September.

Zambia is in Group I alongside Algeria, Burundi, and Togo. In an interview, Litana stated that the draw is fair, but the real test will be on the pitch when the matches start. The 1994 AFCON finalist added that Zambia must aim to collect all the nine points from the home matches.
