League leaders Medeama SC earned a hard-fought point after salvaging a late 88th-minute penalty to draw 1-1 with Bechem United in a thrilling encounter. The home side had taken the lead in the 69th minute through captain Augustine Okrah, who expertly headed home a perfectly delivered ball in the box, giving Bechem hope of securing all three points.
Despite falling behind, Medeama dominated the match, creating wave after wave of pressure on the Bechem defense. Their persistence paid off when Prince was brought down in the box during one of the team’s sustained attacks, earning a penalty that could not be ignored.
Salim Adams stepped up with composure to convert from the spot, restoring parity for the league leaders. The goal ensured both sides shared a point, with Medeama extending their lead by a point while Bechem could take pride in holding the top team for much of the game.
