Manchester City could soon be entering a new era as doubts grow around the future of Pep Guardiola. After a challenging season marked by inconsistent results and a Champions League exit, the Catalan manager appears closer to the end of his cycle despite still having one year left on his contract.
Amid this uncertainty, a first candidate has openly expressed his interest: Michel Sanchez. Currently managing Girona FC, he has impressed in recent years, notably guiding the club to La Liga promotion and even European qualification.
Confident in his abilities, he declared: “Yes, I feel ready… I feel capable of coaching any team because I take a human approach, focused on sporting culture, quality play, and achieving results.”
The Spanish coach also highlighted his ambition and preparation for a potential move to England. “I don’t have a magic wand to soothe egos, but I know how to adapt and I really want to have this experience,” he added.
Admiring Guardiola and maintaining good relations with the City Group, Michel could represent a natural successor if the club decides to turn the page in the coming months.
