SC Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen served up a pulsating 3–3 draw in their Bundesliga Round 25 clash, but one of the night’s standout performers was forward C. Kofane, who delivered a goal and an assist in a dramatic contest.
The match burst into life midway through the first half when Vincenzo Grifo fired Freiburg ahead in the 34th minute. The lead, however, lasted only three minutes. Kofane responded immediately for Leverkusen, finishing a move set up by Martin Terrier to level the score in the 37th minute and swing the momentum back toward the visitors.
Freiburg quickly regained control through Yuito Suzuki in the 43rd minute, but the half had one more twist. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Alejandro Grimaldo curled home a superb free kick for Leverkusen to make it 2–2 heading into the break.
Kofane was again at the heart of the action early in the second half. In the 52nd minute he turned provider, slipping a decisive pass to Terrier, who finished confidently to give Leverkusen their first lead of the evening. The forward’s contribution highlighted his influence in Leverkusen’s attacking transitions, constantly troubling Freiburg’s defense with movement and link-up play.
Freiburg refused to go away, though, and their persistence paid off late on when Matthias Ginter struck in the 86th minute to rescue a point. Despite the late equalizer, Kofane’s decisive involvement in two of Leverkusen’s goals ensured his performance remained one of the defining stories in a thrilling six-goal encounter.
