NFF Weighs 0k Salary Offer to Keep Super Eagles Coach Chelle

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is prepared to improve the pay package of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, but only up to a fixed limit of $100,000 per month as talks over a new deal continue.

Sources within the federation say discussions with the Franco-Malian coach are ongoing, with both sides trying to reach a compromise that would keep him in charge of the national team.

Chelle currently earns around $50,000 monthly but is pushing for a significant increase to $130,000.

According to those familiar with the negotiations, the coach argues that the higher figure would also cover the wages of his backroom staff.

While the NFF is open to adjusting the contract, it is not ready to meet that full demand.

Officials are keen to maintain stability within the team but insist there is a financial ceiling they cannot cross.

There is also a growing sense that the outcome of the talks could determine the federation’s next move.

If an agreement cannot be reached, attention may shift to hiring another foreign coach.

Insiders further indicate that bringing in a local manager is not currently under consideration, even if Chelle decides to walk away from the negotiations.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles coach is expected to name his squad for the upcoming international friendlies in the next FIFA window, with preparations continuing despite the uncertainty surrounding his future
