Achraf Hakimi credits his Spanish coach for reshaping his game, with the Paris Saint-Germain full-back saying it has changed how he’s viewed internationally.
Speaking to the media, Achraf Hakimi explained that Luis Enrique’s tactical approach has helped elevate the role of full-backs, particularly himself and his teammate Nuno Mendes.
This transformation is directly reflected in their performances on the field.
“I don’t know if he’s changed my career, but he’s changed the way the football world views me and Nuno (Mendes) with his use of fullbacks. I’m very happy. He’s shown us another way to play football. You can see it in my performances and also in Nuno’s,” acknowledged Achraf Hakimi.
This progress has not gone unnoticed. Hakimi climbed to 6th place in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, a notable achievement for a full-back.
