On June 28, the 2026 BET Awards brought together some of the biggest names in music, film, television, and sports for an unforgettable night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Hosted by comedian and actor Druski, the annual celebration honored Black excellence while delivering one of the year’s most anticipated red carpets. As expected, celebrities arrived in everything from dramatic couture gowns to sleek tailored ensembles that showcased both personality and high fashion.

Beyond the awards themselves, the red carpet became a showcase for creativity and individuality. The 2026 BET Awards proved that today’s biggest stars aren’t afraid to take fashion risks, whether through bold colors, vintage designs, or the continued popularity of sheer fabrics. Here are the celebrities who made the biggest style statements of the evening.

No one owned the night quite like Teyana Taylor. The multi-hyphenate star arrived in a regal burgundy Stéphane Rolland couture gown featuring sculptural draping and a matching headpiece that perfectly complemented her commanding presence.

Her fashion choice reflected an incredible night professionally as well. Taylor won Best Actress, Video Director of the Year, and the inaugural Fashion Vanguard Award before receiving the prestigious Icon of the Year honor. It was fitting that one of the night’s biggest winners also delivered its most unforgettable look.

Lauryn Hill reminded everyone why she remains a fashion icon. Accepting the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award, she wore a flowing copper Saint Laurent gown that combined fluidity with dramatic elegance. The billowing silhouette and rich metallic finish gave the legendary artist a strong presence on stage, proving that movement can be just as impactful as elaborate couture.

Keke Palmer continued her impressive fashion streak in a sparkling asymmetrical Gucci dress adorned with metallic studs. The sleek silhouette balanced glamour with modern edge, making it one of the evening’s strongest designer moments.

Doechii embraced vintage fashion in a brown crochet halter dress from DSquared2, demonstrating how archival pieces can still feel fresh and contemporary. Meanwhile, RAYE opted for classic sophistication in a black-and-white tuxedo-inspired gown that blended sharp tailoring with feminine elegance.

One of the defining trends at the 2026 BET Awards was sheer styling. Designers embraced transparent fabrics, crystal embellishments, and flowing silhouettes to create glamorous looks that felt modern without being overdone.

Lizzo stunned in a custom Christian Cowan x Elias Matso crystal-net gown featuring a structured corset bodice and a sparkling sheer skirt. Coco Jones also embraced the trend in a striking red Basil Soda gown with strategic cutouts and a flowing translucent train.

Serena Page turned heads in a Rahul Mishra couture design with artistic detailing, while Olandria wore a vibrant yellow Theo Philio gown complete with dramatic cutouts and a sheer flowing skirt. Amaya Espinal rounded out the trend in a crystal-embroidered green PatBO dress with a delicate sheer finish.

The Biggest Winners Took Center Stage

Fashion wasn’t the only highlight of the evening. Clipse joined Teyana Taylor among the night’s biggest winners, earning Album of the Year for Let God Sort ‘Em Out, Best Group, and Best Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Lamar also claimed Best Male Hip-Hop Artist for a record ninth time.

Elsewhere, Cardi B won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, while Kehlani earned two trophies: Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for “Folded.” Lauryn Hill received the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award, and legendary music executive Sylvia Rhone was honored with the Ultimate Icon Award.

A Night Where Fashion and Culture Came Together

The 2026 BET Awards once again demonstrated why the ceremony remains one of entertainment’s most stylish events. From Teyana Taylor’s couture masterpiece and Lauryn Hill’s timeless elegance to the wave of sheer designs worn by Lizzo, Coco Jones, and Serena Page, the evening celebrated individuality through fashion.

More than just beautiful clothes, the night’s standout looks reflected the confidence, creativity, and cultural influence of the artists wearing them. With unforgettable red carpet moments and deserving winners sharing the spotlight, the 2026 BET Awards delivered a celebration that was every bit as fashionable as it was historic.
