For many years, our league has stagnated, trailing behind in terms of growth and development. The big question is what is holding us back from claiming the top spot on the continent? Today, we confronted this reality head-on, convening a landmark workshop that brought together the league’s key stakeholders in a candid and collaborative dialogue.
The workshop was a clarifying moment, a collective acknowledgement that the status quo is no longer acceptable. Together with all the stakeholders, we engaged in a robust examination of the league’s shortcomings, exploring the root causes of its stagnation and identifying opportunities for growth.
The conversation centered on what it truly means to be the best, and what it will take to elevate the Sportpesa league to the pinnacle of African football.
The message was clear, achieving this ambitious goal demands a fundamental shift in mindset and a collective commitment to excellence. It requires setting audacious standards and working tirelessly to meet them. The agenda included but was not limited to
– Continental benchmarking
– Commercialisation and Marketing
– Broadcast reach with AZAM and KBC
– Safety and Security
– Infrastructure development
– Fans engagements, recruitment and retention
This is just the beginning, the Sportpesa league is poised to redefine its destiny and become Africa’s number one league. In attendance at the workshop were Sportpesa League Clubs, FKF NEC members, staff, title sponsors SportPesa, broadcast partners Azam TV Kenya, KBC Channel 1 TV , security agencies, ADAK, Kenya Footballers Welfare Association and SJAK.
