

Amir Abdou, the new coach of Burkina Faso’s Etalons was presented to the press on Thursday, March 5, giving the federation an opportunity to outline its objectives.
Coach Amir Abdou has signed a two-year contract with the Burkina Faso Football Federation. It runs from March 1, 2027, to February 28, 2028.
During the presentation, the president of the Burkina Faso Football Federation outlined the objectives assigned to the coach.
“Qualifying the team for the Africa Cup of Nations is becoming a formality. But in any case, it is an objective. Then we will try to bring in young talent and rebuild the team from the existing foundation.”
“We always like to say that we want to reach at least the semi-finals, but we say that we want to take the team as far as possible in the Africa Cup of Nations. We also want to qualify the team for the 2030 World Cup and take the team into the top 10 in Africa,” said Oumarou Sawadogo.
