NPFL: Wikki Tourists Rally to Beat El Kanemi Warriors

Nigeria Premier Football League side Wikki Tourists staged a strong comeback to defeat El Kanemi Warriors 2–1 in their Matchday 29 clash played in Bauchi on Saturday.

The visitors made a flying start to the encounter, silencing the home supporters just two minutes after kickoff when Daddy Abdulrahman struck to give El Kanemi Warriors an early lead.

Wikki Tourists gradually grew into the contest after the early setback, pressing forward in search of an equaliser while maintaining composure in midfield.

Their efforts eventually paid off deep into first-half stoppage time when Klinkshak Longback found the net in the 45+1 minute to bring the hosts level before the break.

The Bauchi-based side returned for the second half with renewed urgency and quickly turned the game around.

Imamu Bala completed the comeback in the 52nd minute, finishing clinically to hand Wikki Tourists the lead and ultimately the match-winning goal.

Despite attempts by El Kanemi Warriors to fight back, Wikki Tourists held firm defensively to secure all three points in front of their home fans.

The victory provides a significant boost for Wikki Tourists as the NPFL season moves into a decisive phase, with teams battling for crucial points at both ends of the table.

Other fixtures in Matchday 29 of the Nigeria Premier Football League are scheduled to take place on Sunday across various centres in the country.
