Former Ghana Football Association chairman Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called on the government to invest in a high-calibre coach to restore the fortunes of the Ghana national football team.
Speaking on the future of the national team, the seasoned football administrator stressed that financial commitment would be key if Ghana is to compete well at the highest level again starting with the upcoming world cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
“If the government has the money, they should pay well and go for a top-class coach,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of securing elite technical expertise.
Nyaho-Tamakloe noted that certain coaches possess the ability to transform teams within a short period, suggesting that the right appointment could fast-track Ghana’s preparation and rebuilding process.
“Some coaches have the ability to turn teams around quickly. With the right appointment, Ghana can rebuild a strong and competitive Black Stars side,” he added.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions about the appointment of a coach after the country parted ways with coach Otto.
The remarks are likely to reignite debate over whether Ghana should prioritize experienced foreign tacticians or invest in developing local coaching talent, as the Black Stars prepares for the 2026 FIFA world cup.
