Siebert to Officiate Historic UEFA Champions League Final Between Arsenal and PSG

German referee Daniel Siebert has been appointed to take charge of the 2026 UEFA Champions League Final between Arsenal F.C. and Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

The final will take place at the iconic Puskás Aréna on Saturday, May 30, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 CEST.

The clash is expected to attract millions of viewers worldwide as Arsenal chase European glory against a PSG side eager to cement its dominance on the continental stage.

UEFA’s Referees Committee selected the experienced Siebert to oversee the blockbuster encounter, marking a major milestone in the German official’s career.

Although the 42-year-old has handled several high-profile international fixtures, this will be his first UEFA club competition final.

Siebert has been one of Europe’s busiest referees this season, taking charge of nine UEFA Champions League matches.

Notably, he officiated Arsenal’s quarter-final first-leg encounter against Sporting CP and also handled the semi-final second leg between Arsenal and Atlético de Madrid, giving him significant familiarity with the English side ahead of the final.

The German official also refereed the 2025 UEFA Europa League semi-final between Manchester United F.C. and Athletic Club, further underlining UEFA’s confidence in his abilities on the biggest occasions.

Siebert’s international experience includes appearances at both UEFA Euro 2024 and UEFA Euro 2020, where he officiated multiple matches involving some of Europe’s elite national teams.

He will be supported by fellow Germans Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn as assistant referees.

Swiss official Sandro Schärer has been appointed as fourth official, while Spain’s Guadalupe Porras Ayuso will serve as reserve assistant referee.

The Video Assistant Referee team will be led by German official Bastian Dankert, assisted by Robert Schröder, while experienced Spanish referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande will provide VAR support.

Attention will now shift to the final itself, where Arsenal aim to secure their first UEFA Champions League title, while PSG continue their pursuit of another European crown in what promises to be an electrifying contest in the Hungarian capital.
